Robert C. Heselton of Reading, formerly of Stoneham, passed away on Friday, August 23rd, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was 63 years of age.

Born on April 5, 1950 in Somerville, Robert was the loving son of the late Irving Heselton and Alice (Curran) Heselton. Robert was a loving husband, father, and friend to those who knew him.

Rob was a dedicated Clerk for Market Basket for many years. More than anything, Rob cherished spending time with his family and could often be found with a camera, capturing memories of his life and sharing photographs and home videos with his loved ones. Rob was a talented musician, and had a love for singing and playing his guitar in a number of different bands.

Rob was the beloved husband of Meg A. (Redmond) Heselton. He was the devoted father of Jill Boutin and Sarah Heselton. He was the loving father in law of Sean Boutin. Rob was the dear brother of Jean Gaffney and her husband Charles, Nancy Heselton and her husband Michael and the late William Esterbrook.

A Funeral Service Celebrating Rob’s Eternal Life will be held on Thursday, August 29th, 2013 at 2pm in the Chapel of the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Wednesday, August 28th, from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Claire (Toland) Collins, a life-long Medford resident died peacefully at the Golden Living Center in Melrose. She was 85.

Mrs. Collins was raised in Medford, the daughter of the late Daniel and Anne (Moriarty) Toland. Devoted to the care of her family, she was a member of the St. Francis mother’s club and enjoyed the company of her many relatives and friends.

The beloved wife of the late George Collins, she was a devoted mother to Linda Cannon of Medford, Anne Collins and her husband Jim Elliott of Tewksbury, Robert Collins and his wife Lynn of Stoneham and the late Daniel Collins. The dear mother in-in-law of Kathy Collins, Claire is lovingly survived by grandchildren: Brian, Colleen, Christopher, Robert and great-grandchildren: Lexis, Kayla, Casey, Matthew and Shelby. She was also the dear sister of Eleanor Piontkoski and Peter Toland.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday September 6th at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 – 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Born in Cambridge on October 23, 1942, Dorie was the beloved daughter of the late Doris Long. Dorie was a warm and caring daughter and friend. She will be missed by all.

Dorie was an Executive Assistant for many years in the Investment Industry. She loved her pets and was a wonderful and caring woman.

Dorie wishes everyone to live life to the fullest and treasure good health and the people in your lives.

John H. Keating, age 88, known affectionately as “Jake”, passed away early Saturday morning surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of the late Marie F. (Lane) Keating for 32 years. He was the cherished father of Karen Keating of Milford, Kathy Booth and her husband Donald of Milford and was predeceased by his beloved son John F. Keating, a former Medford Police Officer who passed away from a valiant battle with leukemia in September 2005. He was the adored grandfather of Christopher Booth of Charlestown, and Karli, Jonelle and John Michael Keating, all of Medford. Jake is survived by his loving long-time companion, Alva M. Erickson of Medford. He was the devoted brother of the late Edward J. Keating (Boston Police). Jake is also the respected uncle of many nieces and nephews, and dear friend to many.

Jake had a long stellar career with the Medford Police Department joining in 1958 and retiring in 1990. Jake rose through the ranks to eventually lead the Medford Police Department as Police Chief from 1984 to 1990. After retiring as Police Chief, Jake was elected to the Medford City Council and served for 10 years.

Like many young men of his generation after the Pearl Harbor attack, Jake enlisted in the US Navy upon graduating from high school. At the age of 18, he took part in the D-Day battle on Utah Beach. Jake served in Europe and the Pacific and was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1946.

Jake loved his police work, watching sports, and analyzing politics. Any small child or dog could make him smile. He loved to tease and was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor. Jake was a man of high intelligence, integrity and honor. Jake’s love for his family was always his first priority.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, September 17th from 3 thru 8 PM and again on Wednesday morning at 9:30 followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Jake’s name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Donald E. Davis of Framingham and Reading, MA died suddenly on September 14, 2013 at the age of 95. He was the son of the late Dunbar and Theda Davis. Donald was a devoted and loving husband to the late Phyllis Davis for 69 years. Donald is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Howard of Reading, his son Robert and wife Kathy of Millis, MA.

He was the wonderful grandfather of Kristine Connor and her husband Tom of Hudson, MA; Michael Davis of East Boston; Jennifer Davis of Framingham and Robert Howard of North Andover.

Mr. Davis was also the proud great-grandfather of Brad and Rachele Connor of Hudson, MA and Andrew and Colin Howard of North Andover.

Donald is also survived by his beloved sister Mildred and brother-in-law William Johnston of Chandler, AZ and was devoted to his niece, nephews and their families. Donald was also a brother to the late Bette Julien Gilman and the late Harry Dunbar Davis, Jr.

Donald was a Navy Veteran of World War II and served on the salvage diving team. He trained on the Normandy at the Brooklyn Navy base in New York. He saw the 4 D-Day operations and was the proud recipient of the Bronze star for valor.

Upon returning to Massachusetts after the war he pursued a career in sales. He had a successful career selling large printing equipment for Dexter and McCain Manufacturing Corporation; traveling throughout New England, upstate New York and parts of Canada. Upon retirement he traveled the country for McCain giving seminars on the art of selling for several years.

Donald was a dedicated friend who kept in touch with friends and business associates throughout his life. He loved good competition – enjoying golf, cards and many other activities with family and friends.

He was an inspiration to all who knew him and his impact on those lives will last forever.

A Funeral Service celebrating Donald’s Life will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 1 pm in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday from 12-1 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment with Military Honors, Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Born on April 12, 1918, Agnes was the loving daughter of the late Bartholomew Carney and Mary (Crowley) Carney. Agnes was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, neighbor and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Agnes was the beloved wife of the late Henry P. Feeney. She was the devoted mother of Mark Feeney, of Cambridge, a Pulitzer Prize winning arts writer for the Boston Globe, and Joan
Feeney, of New York, founding editor of Epicurious.com and Vogue.com. Agnes was the cherished grandmother of William Feeney and Charlotte F. Phillips. She was the sister of the late Mary Horton, Bartholomew Carney, Nora Morrison, William Carney, and John Carney. Agnes is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
