Mary Jane (Scarpa) Guida of Stoneham passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Winchester Hospital. She was 82 years of age. Born in Cambridge, Mary was the loving daughter of the late Rosario Scarpa and Catherine (Follo) Scarpa. Mary was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be sadly missed. Mary was a dedicated member of Wakefield Lodge #1734 Order Sons of Italy in America. Mary was the beloved wife of 57 years to Carmine Guida. She was the devoted mother of Richard, Paul,and Mark, and mother-in-law of Marie, Rachel, and Michael Martinek. Mary was the cherished grandmother of Adriana, Alyssa, Jessica and Dexter. She was the dear sister of Louis Scarpa and his wife Donna and the late Jessie Lyons and her husband Jack. Mary is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Frances Porcaro, age 101 of Stoneham, formerly of Medford, died Wednesday in Woodbriar Of Wilmington. She is the wife of the late Angelo Porcaro. Born in Boston, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Perella) Mariano, she spent most of her life in Medford. She was a Candymaker, formerly employed by Schrafft’s Candy Company in Charlestown during the 70′s. She is survived by a daughter: Marie Penney and her husband Robert of Stoneham, a son, Ernest Porcaro and his wife Dorothy of Medford. Loving grandmother of Patricia Hand, Robert Penney Jr, Gary Penney, Jeanna Bertolaccini, Michael Porcaro and the late Daniel Porcaro. Also survived by 11 great grandchildren. Sister of the late Anne Babbitt. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Josephine L. (DiNapoli) Cali, of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Friday March 22, 2013. She was 89 years of age.

Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Cali. She was the devoted mother of Paul Cali, Michael Cali and his wife Diane. She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew Cali and his wife Christine, Lauren, Caitlin, and Cristin Cali and the loving great grandmother of Madison.

Lucy F. (Mazzoni) Gentuso, Of Medford started her eternal life in the company of her family on March 24, 2013 after a full and active life for over 99 years with the last 65 being in Medford. Lucy was born in Milford, MA to Frances (Paghera) and Joseph Mazzone. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo V. Gentuso and was cherished by her three children and their spouses, Rose Marie Mazzarella and her late husband Michael, Eugene Gentuso and his wife Rose, Frances Santoro and her husband Eugene. Also survived by 15 loving grandchildren, 21 loving great grandchildren and 3 loving great great grandchildren all of whom she loved and enjoyed. Sister of the late Frank Mazzoni. She graduated from Girls High School in Boston and after raising her family, had a 38 year career in selling women’s clothing in Gilchrist and Cummings stores. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10:30 AM. Robert K. Keane of Stoneham passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013. He was 59 years of age.

Born in Winchester, Robert was the son of the late Robert E. and Joan (Itzo) Keane. Robert was a warm and caring father and friend. He will be sadly missed.

A mechanic by trade, Robert worked for Stoneham Towing for over 20 years. He enjoyed hot rods and classic cars. Robert also loved going to Aruba.

Robert was the devoted father of Robert K. Keane, Jr. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Suzy and his dear friends Robert and Christina Svendsen. He was the brother of Karen of Wakefield.

A Funeral Service celebrating Robert’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 4pm in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Mr. Clark was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 25 for 28 years. He was a US Army veteran, serving as a demolition expert during the Allied Occupation of Germany. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and loved animals. He was predeceased by his wife Lois H. (Whittier) Clark. Michael Villanueva, age 27, of Malden formerly of Medford passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, April 13, 2013. The beloved son of Frank and Theresa (Jango) Villanueva of Malden, he was a loving brother to Anthony Villanueva and his wife Julie of Connecticut and a loving Godfather to Giuliana, also of Connecticut. Michael also leaves many dear aunts, uncles, friends and his family dog, Jack. Raised in Medford, Michael earned a BS in Culinary Arts with a minor in Business at Johnson and Wales University, in 2008. Since 2007, Michael was employed as a chef with the Seaport Hotel in Boston and recently received the President’s Award. Mrs. Georgette Farren, age 69 of Stoneham died on Wednesday following a courageous battle with cancer in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of George “Bob” Farren with whom she shared more than 46 years of marriage. Mrs. Farren was born in Somerville, the daughter of the late George and Ann (Gunset) Sartel. She had been a resident of Stoneham for the past 12 years and prior to that lived in Medford. She had worked as a supervisor for a local college. She had her husband were avid recreational campers and for more than 44 years spent summers in campgrounds in Raymond NH. She aslo enjoyed playing Bingo. Nothing gave her more satisfaction than spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter: Cindy DiCicco and her Fiance` Paul Plourde of North Reading, a son: George Robert Farren Jr. and his wife Julie of Stoneham. Two sisters: Pauline O’Brien and her husband Thomas of FL., Isabel Smith of VA. three brothers: William Sartell and his wife Sheila of Billerica, Richard Sartell and his wife Jeanne of Medford, , James Sartell and his wife Ann of RI,. Francis S. “Frank” McHale, in his 99th year and a 70 year resident of Melrose, entered eternal life on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington following an extended illness. Frank was born in Stoneham on November 15, 1914, a son of the late John J. McHale and Katherine (Flynn) McHale. He grew up in Stoneham where he attended St. Patrick’s Parochial School and Stoneham Public Schools. Frank was a self employed mason and worked on many masonry projects in the surrounding communities. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Mohegan Sun and playing golf. He was an avid fan of Wakefield High School girl’s basketball and Babson College and Stonehill College Women’s basketball. He was a life member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge # 1276 of Wakefield and a retired employee of General Electric and member of G.E.R.M.S. Frank is the beloved husband of the late Muriel C. (Hill) McHale. He is the devoted father of Jack McHale and his wife Ginger of Beverly, Fred McHale and Nancy Herra of Medford and Muriel Campbell and her late husband David of Wakefield. He is the father-in-law of Priscilla McHale of Maine. He is the loving Bumpa to Michelle Bekkenhuis and her husband Stephen of Melrose, Christine Mara and her husband Billy of Wilmington, Pamela McHale of Malden, Jacquelyn Connolly and her husband Jimmy of Melrose, Shannon Barrows and her husband Lou of Billerica, Katelyn Boghos and her husband Dom of Lynn, Ricky McHale and his wife Brenda of Seabrook, New Hampshire, Brian McHale of Saugus, Lisa McHale of Saugus and Jennifer MacLean of Medford and great-Bumpa to 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mae B. (Cosgrove) Fales of Stoneham passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center. She was 88 years of age. Born in Somerville, Mae was the loving daughter of the late Ernest and Leona (McKay) Cosgrove. Mae was a warm and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be sadly missed. Mae was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Fales. She was the devoted mother of Linda Reppucci and her husband Ronald of Stoneham, Ronald Fales and his wife Linda of Melrose, Clifford Fales of FL, Richard Fales and his wife Kathy of Stoneham. Mae was the cherished grandmother of 11, great grandmother of 18. A Funeral Service celebrating Mae’s life will be held on Thursday at 11 am in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Wednesday from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Anna F. Scenna of Stoneham April 30, 2013 at age 65. Anna died in comfort surrounded by her loving family. Loving and cherished daughter of the late Domenico and Carmina (Iocco) Scenna who devoted their lives to her loving care along with her sister Mary S. Mastrocola and her late husband Robert of Stoneham. Beloved sister of Angela Francescucci and her late husband Nicola of Burlington and Maria Domenica Cipollone and her husband Camillo of Medford. Anna also leaves her nieces Maria O’Connor, Lillian DiMaria, nephews Domenic Cipollone and Nicholas Francescucci and many grand nieces and nephews. Anna was the center of our universe and our beacon of light. Anna brought love and joy to everyone she met. In her innocence she enjoyed life and its small treasures. Anna you are a special child of God. You will be greatly missed. Helen D. (DeFusco) Rickley of Reading, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Pasqualina (Miele) and Alexander, and her sister Evelyn. Helen had a beauty of character and personality that was noticed by everyone she met. She devoted her life to raising and loving her family. She also devoted a good part of her life to her parish church and the elementary school children of Reading, (Pearl Street and Killam Schools). She served as a volunteer teacher’s aid at the two schools for almost 30 years. She served at St. Athanasius in the old Arts and Crafts group and sang in the church choir for almost 35 years. Helen will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 67 years, Anthony (Tony, Rick) Rickley; her daughter Patricia Quade and her husband Richard; her daughter Nancy Taylor and her husband James; her daughter Martha Polley and her husband James; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister and brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and all those who were touched by her generosity and kindness. A Funeral Mass celebrating Helen’s Eternal Life will be held in St. Athansius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading on Saturday, May 25th at 10:30 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday, May 24th from 4-8pm in St. Athanasius Church. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
