Born in Melrose, Massaachusetts, Dorothy was the loving daughter of Quinn W. and Mary (Boyle) Jordan. Dorothy was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed. Dorothy enjoyed gardening. She was an avid reader. She held a degree in nursing from St. Joseph’s Academy of Maine and worked as a nurse during and after WWII. She was a long term resident of Reading, active parent at Austin Preparatory School during the 1980′s and was employed at CVS in Reading Square for 20+ years. Beloved wife of the late George Pugh. Born in Woburn, Dolly was the loving daughter of the late John H. Johnson and Elsie (Nordstrom) Johnson. Dolly was a kind, loving mother and wife.
Dolly was the beloved wife of the late Frank P. Bonfanti. She was the devoted mother of Diane DeMinico and her husband Richard, Deborah Chesley and her husband Earle, Francine Bonfanti and her husband David Widerstrom, Sandra Nickerson and the late John H. Bonfanti and Frank P. Bonfanti, Jr. Dolly was the mother-in-law of Dorothy Bonfanti, the cherished grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of 10. She was the dear sister of the late Delano “Buster” Johnson. She was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Victor V. Vacon of Stoneham passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. He was 88 years of age.
Born in Stoneham, Victor was the loving son of the late Alec and Rose (Babin) Vacon.
Victor was a warm and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed.
The son of immigrants from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Victor was a life long resident of Stoneham. He was a graduate of Stoneham High School class of 1942, captain of the track team, on the hockey team and tennis team. After high school, Victor enlisted in the Navy. During World War II, Victor proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Navy as a Signalman Third Class on the USS Barnett and saw action in 4 battles in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. After the war he had a TV repair business and worked with his father Alec at Vacon Coal and Ice, a business started during the Great Depression. In the 1960’s he took over the business which became Vacon Oil, servicing customers in Stoneham and surrounding communities. Victor ran his business the old fashion way, focused on his customers and relationships in the community. He served as a director at Stoneham Savings Bank.
Victor enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and boating at a cottage he acquired for his family in the Meridith NH lakes region.
Victor was the beloved husband of 61 years to the late Rosalie (Bourque) Vacon. He was the devoted father of Gary Vacon and his wife Janet of E. Falmouth, Denise Migliorini and her husband Steven of Stoneham and Andrea Vacon, of Melrose. Victor was the cherished grandfather of Kyle and Robyn Migliorini. He was the dear brother of Paul Vacon of Enfield, CT and Bernard Vacon of Stoneham.

Richard “Dick” George Carlson 5/26/2013
Richard (Dick) George Carlson, 89, of Stoneham passed away peacefully on May 26, 2013.
Richard was born on July 13,1923 in Fitchburg, MA, the son of George and Violet Carlson. He graduated from Abington High School where he met his sweetheart Betty Marilyn Fowler whom he married on June 21, 1944.
In 1944, Richard proudly began serving his country in the US Navy. He was a naval pilot in World War II (on the USS Bennington in the South Pacific), the Korean War and Naval Reserve earning the rank of Lt. Commander. While still a “Weekend Warrior ” pilot in the Naval Reserves, Richard accepted a position with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an En Route Air Traffic Controller and then as an Airway Flight Inspector. Richard’s passion for flying never left him and he was fortunate to fly until his retirement in 1980. Richard, Betty, and the children moved several times during his Naval career until they made their permanent home in Stoneham, MA.
His passion for fishing flourished after retirement and lasted for the remainder of his life. Richard shared joy and laughter with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as he recounted numerous stories of flying and fishing. Richard and Betty faithfully served as members of the Church of the Open Bible. Their lives were blessed by their connection to the many sisters and brothers in Christ from the Church of the Open Bible.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Betty M. Carlson and his daughter Sherilynn Carlson. He is survived by his son Richard G. Carlson Jr. and his wife Pegge of Londonderry N.H., his son Douglas P. Carlson and his wife Lorraine of Stoneham, his daughter Deborah J. Carlson and her partner Debora M. Ortega of Portland Oregon and his daughter Joyce L. Ellsmore and her husband Keith of Gorham Maine, his grandchildren Kathleen (Kara), Richard, Shawn, Krysta, Jaclyn, Melanie, Leanne, Christine, Kara, and 8 great-grandchildren.
At his request, a private graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11am. Richard Dyment of Reading, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Winchester Hospital He was 63 years of age.
Born in Chelsea, Richard was the loving son of Grace A. (Hickey) Dyment and the late Frederick S. Dyment. Richard was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Richard was raised in Reading. A member of the Class of 1967 from Reading Memorial High School, Richard played for and was also a captain for the Reading High Hockey Team.
Richard worked at A.W. Chesterton for more than 40 years. He served in the United States Army Reserves. He was an avid hockey fan throughout his entire life. Richard enjoyed many years at Terrace Pines Campground in Center Ossipee, New Hampshire. He thoroughly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His family was first and foremost in his life.
Richard was the beloved husband for 41 years of Jean (Dewsnap) Dyment. He was the devoted father of Suzanne Davis and her husband Tim, Michael Dyment and his wife Michele. Richard was the cherished grandfather of Emma, Ryan, Sarah and Taylor and the dear brother of Bill Dyment, Linda Jordan and her husband David and Kathy Valliere and her husband Ken. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Louis J. Sr. “Louie” Angelo of North Reading, formerly of Medford and Malden, passed away on March 3, 2013 at Meadowview Nursing Home in North Reading surrounded by his family at age 88.
Louie was born in Malden on March 26, 1924 the son of the late Joseph and Mary (DeBennedetto) Angelo. He was a pitcher in the minor league for the 1941 Chicago Cubs. He served in the US Army during World War II in which he was in the Third Wave at Omaha Beach during the Invasion of Normandy on D-Day and also fought at the Battle of the Bulge at Ardennes. Louie was the former owner of Pomp’s Cleaners of Malden and Stoneham.
Louie was the beloved husband for 55 years of marriage to Marie (Chiulli). Devoted father of LouAnn Bramante and her husband Domenic, Louis J. Angelo, Jr. and Lisa M. Skinner and her husband Dennis. Loving grandfather of Eric Skinner and Kayla Skinner. Survived by three brothers Nicholas and his wife Beatrice, Joseph and his wife Dorothy, John and his wife Carol. Also survived by three sisters, Gloria Teta, Rosemary Clausen, Dorothy Grasso and a sister in law, Florence Angelo. Survived by his brother in law, John Chiulli and his wife Theresa. Pre deceased by his brother and sister in law, George and Yolanda Angelo and his brother Anthony Angelo. Also pre deceased by his brother in law and sister in law, Alfonse Chiulli and his wife Rita. Louie is survived by a loving nephew, Deputy Fire Chief, Robert Angelo, Sr. and his wife Leslie of Malden as well as many caring nieces and nephews.

Bernard C. Vacon, 93, died on May 22 at the Veteran’s Medical Center in Bedford after declining health. He was the loving son of Alex and Rose (Bourque) Vacon and the loving husband of the late Mary (Lopez) Vacon, devoted father of Mary Maher and her husband Thomas and Carol Vacon. Cherished grandfather of Scott Maher and Amanda Middleton and her husband Dana. Very proud great grandfather of Elise Maher, Ava and Evan Middleton. Brother of Paul Vacon of Enfield, CT and the late Victor Vacon and the late Helen Vacon, both of Stoneham.
In addition to being the former Chief of Police of Stoneham for 25 years, he was an avid fly fisherman who taught his grandson, Scott, the fine art of fly fishing. Over the years, they enjoyed numerous trips together salmon fishing in Alaska and New Brunswick. He also especially enjoyed tennis and hiking in the woods with his grandchildren where they would track animals and build a fire to roast hotdogs. Bernie loved spending summers boating and fishing with his family at his cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Bernie was a very accomplished storyteller. He would captivate his own children and later his grandchildren with wonderful animal adventures. Bernie was a US Army Veteran and served in the military police during World War II in North Africa and Europe. A long standing Member of the Board of Directors of the Stoneham Savings Bank, he was also Recording Secretary of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, and a former Treasurer of the Fuller House of Stoneham, where he also lived happily for the last three years.

Josephine M. (Filoramo) Asci of Stoneham passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in Pepperell. She was 85 years of age.
Born in Wakefield, Josephine was the daughter of the late Josephine and Joseph Filoramo. Josephine was a warm and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be sadly missed.
Josephine was the beloved wife of the late M. Ernest Asci. She was the devoted mother of Janet Bohling and Michael Asci and his wife Lisa. Josephine was the cherished grandmother of Robert Ernest Bohling, Nicholas George Bohling, Michael G. Asci and Melissa R. Asci. She was the dear sister of Ruth Capuci and predeceased by six brothers and sisters.

Cari Lee Spencer, of Nashua, NH, formerly of Billerica, by accident, June 2, 2013. She was 46 years of age.
Born in Boston, Cari was the beloved daughter of Brian J and Linda (Dargie) Spencer. Cari was a warm and caring daughter, niece, cousin and friend. She will be sadly missed.
Cari was the loving companion of John Pina, II. She was the dear niece of Peggy Walker, Ron Dargie and his wife Nancy, and Mary Schiappa and her husband Frank. Cari is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Alan K. Melkonian 6/7/2013 Stoneham, MA
At the age of 58, Alan Melkonian of Stoneham passed away peacefully in his home on June 7, 2013 at 1:55 p.m. after a long battle with ALS.
Alan led Stoneham Ford for 36 years, in addition to serving on the Board of Directors at StonehamBank for 18 years. Alan enjoyed boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, snowmobiling, spending time with his family, construction, and real estate development. Previous “Citizen of the Year,” Alan was often recognized as a contributor to his community, donating time and funds to organizations ranging from Stone Zoo to Stoneham Theater.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Melkonian, his daughters, Jenna Melkonian and Laura Dierksmeier, and son-in-law Claus Dierksmeier, his father, John Melkonian and his wife Gail; his brothers, Ralph Melkonian and his wife Kathleen, Ron Melkonian and his wife Carleen, and Mark Melkonian and his wife Claire, as well as many nieces and nephews. Alan was predeceased by his mother the late Alice Melkonian.

Antonia M. (Longo) Evangelista of Medford passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013 in Stoneham. She was 99 years of age.
Born in Cassino, Italy Antonia was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Loreta (Torrice) Evangelista. Antonia was a warm and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family. She also loved cooking, gardening and her home. She will be sadly missed.
Antonia was the beloved wife of the late Giovanni Evangelista. She was the devoted mother of Lucia Evangelista and her husband Claudio, Fernando Evangelista and his wife Rosalie, Carmela Colozzo and her husband Joseph, Frances Encalada and her husband Joseph and Joanna Murphy and her husband Edward. She was the cherished grandmother of 14, great grandmother of 19, great great grandmother of 2. Antonia was predeceased by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
